Brightkite – spotter for great hang outs?
I like Brightkite! I like the way it looks, the way it works, the people near and afar that I socialize with there, the comments I get and the conversations they sometimes turn into. And I like the way so many post photos of great food at great cafés and restaurants.

A social map service full of curious people, geeks, early users, travellers… and food lovers!
Foodspotter
Brightkite is a location-sharing service who wants to “connects people based on the places they visit in the real world”. The way many people use Brightkite, I think it could also be an exellent trip advisor, especially on food and cafés. An efficient spotter for great hang outs. People are social and they like to meet and eat, at places they really enjoy and where the food is good. On Brightkite users post notes and photos about places they love, the spot are automatically localized of course, so what could be easier than making a “spotter for great hang outs”?

Next time I visit Copenhagen, og London, or Berlin, a service like that would be easy to find and use on my iPhone. Sure, there are plenty of other services to use: Tripadvisor, dopplr, all kinds of travelsites. But, for one, if I´m a BK user, great spots would be easy to find. And secondly, it might be a good idea for BK to share. Dopplr are asking their users to contribute with tips on where to stay, where the great restaurants and best budget meals are in different cities, slowly but certainly building a trip advisor service.
Why not cooperate? A share on dopplr-function, Brightkite, is that an idea?

Great idea, i like your suggestion very much
Wrote a comment on this use of brightkite too… (in norwegian)
